grief in stages

I am finding that grief shapes us in ways that perhaps we did not want to be shaped. It also takes us places that we did not want to go and causes us to reevaluate all kinds of things that we took for granted.

Grief is not a friend, but rather kind of like a personal trainer who shows up at the most inopportune times. Eventually, I will be at a different place.

And things will look different and be different in that place.
